Writing Center Tutors are undergraduate & graduate students from a variety of disciplines and expertise. They collaborate with writers from across the university to help them with a wide variety of writing projects (academic papers, e-portfolios, resumes, applications, creative writing, etc.) at any stage of the writing process. They communicate with these writers to provide detailed feedback on their work, offer resources about writing, and help plan next steps that allow writers to improve their pieces and learn transferable writing skills. Every Writing Center Tutor takes WRD 395: Writing Center Theory and Pedagogy their first quarter working for the Writing Center.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Work with all DePaul-affiliated writers, in a wide range of appointment types & modalities, to provide high-quality, revision-oriented feedback (70%)

Complete required Writing Center tutor training and ongoing tutor development (20%)

Complete side work related to Writing Center programs and operations as assigned (10%)

Follow employee protocol & maintain professionalism in the workplace (100%)
