Under the supervision of the Writing Center Director, the Publications Student Leader manages, generates content for, and maintains two publications:

1. UCWbLing, our blog
2. The Orange Couch, our literary journal

✨ Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Generate UCWbLing content (2-4 posts/week during WQ + SQ) (35%)

• Solicit tutors to submit blog posts on a variety of topics
• Copyedit submitted posts
• Write for various UCWbLing sections, filling in content gaps

Maintain UCWbLing’s WordPress website (35%)

• Publish content regularly, ensuring balance among categories and sections, implementing the UCWbLing Guidelines
• Troubleshoot technical difficulties
• Analyze blog’s traffic and strategize ways to promote readership
• Propose and implement web design changes (optional)

Oversee development and publication of the Writing Center’s annual literary magazine The Orange Couch (30%)

• Implement timeline and tasks defined in The Orange Couch Guidelines
• Revise and update The Orange Couch Guidelines as necessary
