Elements You Should Include on “Call for Submissions” Graphic
Before showing you how to design the graphic, here is the list of the elements the graphic should contain:
- [ ] A QR code leading to The Orange Couch submission page; the submission page provides all the information on the submission process and has a link to the Airtable submission form (discussed in the “Managing Airtable” subpage) writers will fill out
- [ ] A short link to the Orange Couch submission page
- [ ] The deadline for submitting

Please note that beginning AQ22, the Writing Center among other DePaul departments must adhere to DePaul’s branding for promotional materials geared toward the public. This does not affect The Orange Couch nor its promotional material.

Selecting the Graphic Size
- Using the Writing Center Canva account, select the purple “Create a design” button on the right side of the screen—which is located next to the Writing Center icon.
- The button will prompt suggested sizes for your graphic. The recommended sizes for social media posts are Instagram Post (1080 x 1080 px) and Flyer (8.5 x 11 in).
- NOTE: keep in mind that the post will be going on Instagram, so if you use the Flyer option, you will need to resize it before preparing to post it on instagram.
Adding a Background
Once you’ve created your project, start designing by selecting a background color.
