This 30 minute required professional development training consists of 3 parts:

1. You will take a pre-test survey to mark where you are in your thinking about linguistic justice & diversity at the outset of this process
2. You will watch a video that includes perspectives from current and past facilitators of this training, along with the perspectives of and insights from a range of scholars and experts
3. You will make a short audio recording reflecting on linguistic justice and diversity using Slack

If you do not complete any element of this professional development within the allotted 30 minutes for any reason, please Slack Matthew directly.

Part 1: Take Pre-test (~5 minutes)

This pretest is not anonymous—however, your answers will not be shared publicly in any manner. This pretest will help you set a baseline for the Linguistic Justice & Diversity training you will do throughout the academic year.

Part 2: Watch Video (15 minutes)

Created by current and past facilitators of this training, this video brings together voices from Writing Center-staff and experts about linguistic justice and diversity to introduce key concepts and give an overview on why linguistic justice and diversity matters to us in our everyday work.

Part 3: Make Reflection Audio Clip (10 minutes)

Go to Slack and the #professionaldevelopment channel and open the Linguistic Justice & Diversity Training Intro thread.
